Transfer of Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization to 19F:

چکیده
Introduction Parahydrogen-Induced Polarization (PHIP) leads to strong signal enhancement in H-NMR if unsaturated substrates are hydrogenated with parahydrogen (p-H2) applying an appropriate catalyst. As shown before, this polarization can be transferred to heteronuclei such as C. For imaging the lung, a F-hyperpolarized contrast agent should be available, if possible for inhalation. Normally, this demands aerosols; however, fluorinated gases may also qualify.

19F-MRI using Hyperpolarized Substrates Generated via Parahydrogen-Transfer
Introduction F attracts increasingly more attention for MRI and MRS investigations due to its interesting MR characteristics that include a 100% natural abundance and 84% sensitivity in comparison to H. Although F has a wide chemical shift range (~ 300 ppm?) the essentially complete lack of a natural background signal in body tissues qualify fluorinated substrates as excellent reporter molecule...
متن کاملNMR Signal Enhancement by using Parahydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP) and Appropriate Pulse Sequences
Introduction Parahydrogen induced polarization (PHIP) has turned out to be a versatile technique to obtain hyperpolarized molecules exhibiting strong NMR signals via a chemical approach. PHIP makes use of breaking the high initial symmetry of parahydrogen during homogeneously catalyzed hydrogenations of unsaturated substrates and, therefore, of the creation of nonequivalent protons in the produ...

Introduction A complete lack of natural background signal in body tissues and advantageous MR characteristics like a 100% natual abundance and 84% MR sensitivity in comparison to H qualify fluorinated substrates as preeminent reporter molecules for MRIand MRSinvestigations. Even the simultaneous detection of multiple signals from separate molecules in MRS investigations is facilitated by a wide...
متن کاملOptimization of SABRE for polarization of the tuberculosis drugs pyrazinamide and isoniazid
Hyperpolarization produces nuclear spin polarization that is several orders of magnitude larger than that achieved at thermal equilibrium thus providing extraordinary contrast and sensitivity. As a parahydrogen induced polarization (PHIP) technique that does not require chemical modification of the substrate to polarize, Signal Amplification by Reversible Exchange (SABRE) has attracted a lot of...
متن کاملParahydrogen-induced polarization in alkyne hydrogenation catalyzed by Pd nanoparticles embedded in a supported ionic liquid phase.
Parahydrogen-induced polarization was observed in the gas phase heterogeneous hydrogenation of propyne catalyzed by Pd(0) nanoparticles embedded in an ionic liquid phase supported on activated carbon fibers (Pd(0)/SILP/ACF). The results were markedly different from those obtained with a reference catalyst, Pd(0)/ACF, demonstrating the important role of the ionic liquid.
